I feel extremely grateful to Monica and her team at Keller Williams for the support and exceptional customer service we were provided during the sale of my dad’s house. Aside from the value of the property, my Dad regarded his house as the place where he and his late wife, my Mom, raised two kids and where they provided before and after school care for their grandchildren. When I visited with him, those were the things that he talked about and was most proud of. Monica understood that from the first meeting with my dad.

Monica met my dad when he was finally willing to sell the home he owned for over 50 years. At that time, my dad had experienced a few health issues that convinced him it was time to relocate to a living arrangement that would be more supportive of his health and mobility. Monica was sensitive to this and allowed him to talk through the difficulty he felt in leaving his home while knowing the necessity to do so. This was well beyond the duty she had as a Realtor, and watching her and my dad talk was just amazing.

From a support aspect, I was so impressed with the expert advice I received during the process of getting the house ready to sell, putting it on the market, and closing the sale. During each step, Monica engaged with my Dad and me through the entire process. She dropped by the house with carpet samples and paint colors when we were planning replacements and improvements to the house. She suggested cost effective improvements and provided an array of contractors who could help implement the improvements needed to make the house ready for sale. Monica’s assistance in this regard was invaluable.

Even so, more important was the expert council Monica provided as we worked through the pricing, marketing, and sale process. Monica was interested in my Dad’s opinion and genuinely listened to him as they discussed the value of the house and how best to position it for sale. With Monica’s help expert advice, my Dad was able to determine the price, timeline, and how to prepare the sale of his house. The fact that he had so much say in all of this made him feel very much at ease and gave him confidence as the process unfolded. I know my Dad valued Monica’s opinion and expertise as he would often remark during conversation about what Monica, his Realtor had recommended, so that’s what we were going to do. The fact that my Dad had so much trust in her speaks volumes about Monica’s character and conduct.

Finally, I would like to note the genuine caring and sense of concern Monica expressed during the time she spent with my Dad and me. She worked with us for over half a year and would visit with us not only for formal consults but also drop by and see my Dad just to check in and visit. That Monica did this not only while my Dad was still in his house but while he was in and out of hospitals and skilled care facilities was very touching. Our visits there would often start off with my Dad telling me that Monica had dropped by, just to chat, and share some details on the how things were going with his house. As a result, my Dad really felt engaged, and supported through the entire process, despite his circumstances.

In summary, we could not have worked with a better Realtor than Monica Woodman. Her depth of experience in supporting senior homeowners selling their homes to make the transition to another phase of living, was apparent, effective, and served to erase any concern my Dad may have had about not being heard, understood, or appreciated. In so many ways, Monica provided my Dad with clarity and peace of mind during a process that was made ever so complicated by his declining health and mobility. Her strength and determination helped my Dad and me get through what was already an extremely challenging time. I know my Dad was grateful for all of Monica’s support and caring and I too, will always be grateful for her compassion and professionalism. For other family’s going through similar circumstances, I would strongly recommend Monica and her team. We truly are fortunate to have such exceptional individuals like her working to support our community.
